Computer Recycling

Computer recycling is the process of collecting old computers and disassembling or repairing the computer components or metals used in the computer. Easy-Recycle recycle computer parts like monitors, computers, Laptops, keyboards, printers, motherboards, etc. Our aim is to reduce the landfills and protect the environment from such hazardous waste. Computer recycling and refurbishing is an important part of an organisation’s sustainable waste strategy. Businesses are encouraged to dispose of their IT equipment in an environmentally responsible way, and there are government regulations, such as the WEEE directive, designed to deal with hazardous waste.

It is more productive to recycle computer components and reuse them in other desktops and laptops. The process of computer recycling involves collecting the obsolete computers to start with and then sorting them like monitors with CRT tubes, LED, etc. Once sorted the components are then tested for potential reuse. If found to be useful, they are recycled and refurbished and then donated to charity or placed into schools. The other materials which cannot be salvaged are also appropriately disposed off. For example, monitors that contain large quantity of lead are dealt with correctly to make sure it does not harm the environment. In addition to this the batteries are also disposed of in the correct manner. Any storage devices found are destroyed thoroughly so that no data is present on it. All the material is separated as per material composition.
